In free-form, there are no rules - not for characters, not for statistics, not for gaming sessions, and etc. FFRP is generally present on IRC networks, and it is up to the channel owner to delegate rules and regulations. Free-form can range from futuristic to medieval to fantasy, or all of them balled into one.

Medieval/Fantasy/Futuristic

Medieval and Fantasy or Futuristic RP takes place in times of the like. Mostly set in places like Scotland, or Ireland, (England and the like) and its surrounding areas, people speak with a heavy Scott accent and or old English style of speaking. You can learn more about this type of RP by checking out any links on our link page.

Gorean

Gorean RP is based on places from books written by John Norman. Gorean is adult themes. Gorean Role Players usually have no line between Out Of Character and In Character events - everything is one big pot of stew. Slavery and D/S in a fantasy world are the primary themes at work here. Most Gorean channels on IRC are 18 or 21+.

LARP - Live Action Role Playing

This is a toughie. A LARP is played in real life, and can be as free as free-form, or as rule filled as AD&D. Usually it is Fantasy-Medieval, but I’ve seen Horror/Gothic LARPs as well. Participants get to really play their character, mainly in costume and in personality.
