Do you want to know what I found out? I know I would.

Well here it is……..

It’s possible, with a few catches. First you won’t be playing on the Blizzard server, so if you want to play with your paying friends, you’re going to have to pay to play (sorry). Secondly, the servers you’ll be playing on may not be as reliable and they might drop out at times. Third you’ll have to have a basic skill in editing files.

Here’s how you do it.

  1. Download the WoW client, patches and expansions. It might take a while to download depending on your download rate, it took me a few days to get it all.
  2. Right click ‘realmslist.wtf’ , which is located in your install directory, and select properties.
  3. Go to the general tab and select ‘change’ in the open with section.
  4. Double click notepad and then select apply.
  5. Next use a search engine like Google to find a “World of Warcraft” emulation server.
  6. Once you find a “World of Warcraft” emulation server, make an account with them and follow the on site instructions.
  7. Finally, edit your ‘realmslist.wtf’ file, from step 2 to include the correct settings that you will get from the emulation server.

I recomend that you use Toxic WoW, as their server is the best.
